EWOK

EWOK studied traditional animation at art school in New York, but his real education came in the mid-’90s on the city’s walls, where he became one of its most influential graffiti writers. New York is still his subject: the everyday people behind his twisted portraits, and the street ephemera (stamped tickets, handwritten notes) he collages into his backgrounds. His work spans fine art painting, murals, character design, comics and fashion, for clients including DC Comics, Red Bull, MTV and the Museum of Graffiti. For three decades he has chosen anonymity over the spotlight. His book on the line between graffiti and fine art, I Wuz Heer, is on the way.
